Dancefilm Practitioner Masterclass to explore the skills and understanding required to become dancefilm artists

Equipment provided by the company: Cameras, laptops, Final Cut Pro 6, DVD and Mini DV
Our masterclass is aimed at participants who are studying at university, at college or for dance professionals looking to broaden their skills.
There are a range of mini-masterclass options available that focus on one specific area of dancefilm (e.g. filming or editing). There is also the option of combining a selection of mini-masterclasses to give participants a broad range of skills helping them to become dancefilm practitioners themselves.
Mini Master Class (1 day) options consist of:

• Choreographing for the Camera
• Filming Dance
• Editing for Dancefilm
Our full Dancefilm Practitioner Master Class (3-5 days) would consist of:
• Company introduction
• Screening of current/past company work
• Dancefilm introduction
• Equipment demonstration and exploration
• The dancefilm director session
• Creative ideas and development session
• Storyboarding session
• Choreographing for the camera workshop
• Performing for the camera class
• Filming session
• Editing workshop
• Final Sharing of finished dancefilm/s
The company will support participants in finding new ways of working with technologies and different artistic mediums, pushing them to be creative and to look beyond perceived limitations of choreographing in dance.
As part of the 5-day course, Heather will also hold a Q&A on her work and individual choreographic projects she has undertaken throughout her career to date.
