State of Flux’s Artistic Director, Heather Eddington, and Education Dance Artist, Emma Brady are both experienced teachers with degrees in dance and QTLS status. They also have further qualifications in their specific areas of expertise. For several years Heather and Emma have been assisting with the provision of dance in primary, secondary and further education establishments, as well as leading and teaching in the dance department at City College Norwich. Both have experience of designing and developing courses and are happy to assist departments to develop the provision of dance within their schools.
Heather and Emma will liaise closely with teachers to design a class, workshop or package to fulfil the prescribed curriculum (A-level, AS-level, GCSE, First Diploma and National Diploma) requirements.
Sessions can last 1 – 4 hours and will include some or all of the following (depending on the length of the class):
- Technique
- Expression in Dance
- The Craft of Choreography
- Historical and Social Context
- Dance Appreciation
- Repertoire
Examples of past requests include: delivering BTEC units in Jazz Dance, Performance, or Ballet; creating a choreography that suits a particular criteria, and developing an assignment to tackle difficult criteria.
